Rihanna wants Chris Brown back in her life
Posted on (August,5,09)
Does Rihanna want her face time with Chris Brown to be a little less coincidental?
The pop star’s attorney tells E! News that his client is looking to do away with the order of protection that’s been in place since Brown copped to beating on Rihanna in February, which requires the “Run It” singer to stay at least 50 yards away from his ex-girlfriend.
The court allowed some leeway in case the duo were both in attendance at a music industry event, meaning Brown wouldn’t be hauled off to the clink if he and Rihanna happened to rub elbows at the Grammys.
But whether she wanted this all along or was moved by Brown’s videotaped mea culpa (and the promise of yet another apology on Larry King Live Wednesday night), Rihanna, who declined the court’s offer of a restraining order back in March, feels that a level-one protection order will be sufficient from now on.
Which basically constitutes a handful of stipulations that you would want anyone to abide by.
“That order would prevent Chris from annoying, molesting or harassing her,” attorney Donald Etra told us. “That level-one order would fully protect her.”
“The order in effect now is a stay-away order preventing them from coming within 50 yards of each other,” Etra added, but “Rihanna’s position from the beginning is that there was no need for that level of protective order.”
Rihanna and Brown have crossed paths multiple times since their Feb. 8 altercation, which prevented both of them from attending that night’s Grammy Awards and ultimately led to Brown being charged with felony assault and making criminal threats.
He pleaded guilty to assault in June and was sentenced to five years’ probation, 180 days of community service and an anti-domestic violence program.
Brown’s due to be formally sentenced tomorrow, hence the update from Rihanna’s camp.
And, if she gets her way, perhaps she and Brown will get to attend their next basketball game together.

Chris Brown to apologize on Larry King Live?
Posted on (August,2,09)
Chris Brown is planning to give his first national TV interview discussing the night he assaulted Rihanna, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
The singer will be formally sentenced on Wednesday, August 5 and sources tell RadarOnline.com that he will most likely appear on Larry King Live after that.
Brown’s plea deal, negotiated by his lawyer Mark Geragos, will be turned into an official sentence of five years probation, 180 days of labor oriented service, and attending a domestic violence counseling class for one year.
Larry King Live is the first choice of Brown’s handlers, RadarOnline.com learned exclusively. Brown’s team believes the singer will be able to get his apology across without facing brutal questioning.
Brown previously made a formal public apology that was posted on his website and said “I felt it was time you heard directly from me that I am sorry,” and that he wanted to live his life in a way that, “would make me truly worthy of the term role model.”
Rihanna “Shocked” By Chris Brown’s Apology Video?
Posted on (July,31,09)
According to rumors, Rihanna is supposedly shocked by Chris Brown’s public video apology after he beat her to the point of needing hospitalization in February. Sources say that Rihanna wasn’t too happy about him addressing it so publicly.
An insider reportedly tells Now magazine,
“She’s in total shock. It was like he gave her another blow, albeit one of a different kind. All she knows is that it’s in the news again and that’s the one thing she didn’t want. She’s been trying to put it behind her and move on as fast as possible.”
The source continues,
“They spoke earlier last week and Chris made no mention of any public statement then. She wishes he’d given her at least a heads-up about it. But that’s Chris, always thinking of himself first and forgetting how this would impact on her.”
Furthermore, the insider says,
“In the video he says he’s apologized to Rihanna privately many times and that’s true. So we’re questioning what this video is really for. It’s clearly something he’s done for his public image. It’s convenient that he’s waited until his new album’s coming out.”
Chris Brown back on the charts!
Posted on (July,29,09)
A viral videoclip of a wedding party dancing down the aisle to Brown’s song “Forever” returns him to the charts.
In the week ending July 26, it sold 50,000 downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan. That’s up a whopping 1,721% in sales compared to the previous week and the song thusly re-enters the Hot Digital Songs chart at No. 21.
It’s the first time the uptempo single has appeared on the list since the tally dated Jan. 31. It’s also the best sales week for any of Brown’s songs since Christmas week of 2008, when “Forever” shifted 77,000.
On July 20, Brown went to his official YouTube channel to issue a video statement about the incident with Rihanna. It has been watched 2.4 million times.
Coincidentally, newlyweds Kevin Heinz and Jill Peterson posted the videoclip of their boogying wedding party on YouTube a day earlier. At press time it was already the site’s most-viewed clip of the month, with 11.6 million views. The happy couple were interviewed July 24 on NBC’s “Today” and the wedding party performed its dance routine on the show the following day.
Perhaps the beleaguered Brown’s return to the charts means that the buying public was able to separate the artist from the art and simply focus on the exuberant tune itself. Or maybe some consumers were simply unaware that Brown was the vocalist or of his recent troubles.
Whatever the case, it’s safe to say that the dancing wedding party clip has given Brown more positive publicity than anything else since the February altercation — and it couldn’t have been more well-timed.

New Boyz challenge Chris Brown to a Jerkin’ Competition
Posted on (July,28,09)
It’s all in good fun CB fans. So don’t hate them lol.
Every so often, a new dance craze comes along to captivate the hearts and minds of people all over the world. Whether it’s the Macarena or Soulja Boy Tell’em’s Crank That, the dance becomes a staple at summer barbeques, prom dance floors and, in more recent years, on teenagers’ YouTube videos.
And this year, that craze seems to be jerkin’. The dance originated out of Southern California and has spread across the country thanks in part to videos of kids doing it on the Internet. The most prominent proponents of jerkin’ culture have been the New Boyz with their song “You’re a Jerk.” The teen duo were fans of the movement and wanted to make it bigger. “People were making jerkin’ music, but nobody was like doing anything with it,” Legacy said. “We wanted to make it worldwide.”
So when the group saw a video of Chris Brown doing the dance, they took a little exception.
“I seen Chris Brown jerkin’ on YouTube, actually,” Legacy said. “And it’s crazy, ‘cuz he’s from Virginia, as everybody knows, so I’m like, ‘He’s always coming to California, getting a new dance.’ ”
He said that Brown previously came to California and took another SoCal dance, crumping (also spelled “krumping”), and ran with it; the choreography in Brown’s early music videos show its influence. But Ben J said he didn’t want the same thing to happen with jerkin,’ and he challenged him to jerkin’ battle — a jerk-off, if you must.
“I called you out, Chris Brown, that’s what you wanted, dog!” he said. “I’m about to show you how the real California dudes jerk and where it started from.”
However, the New Boyz said that there’s no real beef. They said that they’re about to make a song with Brown, and he’s actually their friend.
“It’s a friendly battle,” Ben J said. “That’s my boy! So I’m calling you out, Chris Brown, in front of all of the girls.”
“It’s going to be a biggest event ever,” Ben boasted. “Ben J from the New Boyz, ‘You’re a Jerk, Chris Brown!’, HBO pay-per-view,” said Legacy. “It’s not going to be on none of those shows, but it’s still going to be the biggest event ever.”
